COVID Arrangements in School

2nd Sep 2020

Dear Parent/ Guardian

I am delighted to inform you that the children are settling back into school very well and seem very happy to be in the company of the teachers and their class mates.

I want to extend my gratitude to everyone for their cooperation with the new procedures for entering and leaving the school.

Parents should be aware of the following guidelines and procedures in school;

  1. Please do not send your child to school if they are unwell or displaying symptoms such as a new dry cough, loss of taste/smell, high temperature or fever.
  2. If a child becomes unwell in school and is displaying symptoms such as a new dry cough, loss of taste or smell, temperature or fever, the parent will be contacted and instructed to collect the child from school. The child can return to school when they have had a COVID19 test and the result is negative and there is no longer any high temperature or fever for 48 hours OR when they have isolated for 14 days.
  3. Siblings of the child will also need to go home.
  4. If a child tests positive for COVID19, PHA will liaise with the school and the relevant parents will be contacted.
  5. Please speak to your child about the need for openness and honesty in regard to these procedures.
  6. Children should only bring hard plastic lunch boxes/ water bottles or small disposal plastic bags to school. All food brought to school should be eaten by the child or put in the bin.
  7. Children should not bring any other materials to school except a coat.
