Dear P4 parents and children,
As you know all First Communion services have been postponed this year and we are very disappointed not to be coming together on Saturday 30th June as planned. We have planned a number of activities to help to mark the date that should have been their special day.
On Sunday 14th June at 12.15pm in St. Peter's Chapel, a special mass will be celebrated for the Primary 4 children to mark Corpus Christi, the day the children were due to finish the Do This in Memory programme. Parents and children can join the mass online at https://www.lurganparish.com/stpeters-webcam/.
In the run up to this mass, the teachers will be organising an art project focussing on the theme of Thanking God.
We thought you might enjoy a bit of fun leading up to Saturday 30th so we have persuaded (some would say harassed!) a few of our Tannaghmore teachers and classroom assistants to share their own First Communion photos so you can try to guess who’s who!
All other year groups are welcome too.The answers will be on the school website on Saturday morning!
We will also upload some of the Alive O songs which the children will be familiar with and would have been part of the ceremony.
We hope this will in some way go towards making up for missing out on their big day.
