June 21 Newsletter
Dear Parent/ Guardian
After a very unusual school year we have arrived at the final month of the school calendar. I want to thank everyone for their support with the COVID19 regulations around the school and for your understanding in relation to events such as Confirmation and First Communion.
Please continue to adhere to social distancing at the school gates and all adults should be wearing a face covering unless medically excempt.
Primary 7 Leavers
Primary 7 children will finish school on Thursday 24th June. There will be a special mass and assembly for the children on that day and we will have some fun activities for the children in the afternoon. Unfortunatly due to COVID restrictions parents will not be able to attend.
Sports Day
In order to keep children in their protective bubbles, we are unable to have a whole school sports day. The teachers will hold individual sports days for each year group through out the month of June. The dates are as follows;
Primary 1: Thursday 17th June
Primary 2: Thursday 10th June
Primary 3: Friday 4th June
Primary 4: Tuesday 15th June
Primary 5: Monday 14th June
Primary 6: Wednesday 9th June
Friday 7: Friday 4th June
Children should wear appropriate sports gear into school on their day, have a water bottle and suncream on if the weather is good. Unfortunatley, we cannot permit adults to attend.
Healthy Kidz
Most of our Healthy Kidz clubs have now finished. One more session of Monday's club for P3 and P5 gaelic football will be held on Monday 7th June and one session of Friday's club for Primary 1 and Primary 6 girls will be held on Friday 4th June. PE for all classes will continue until Friday 18th June. The Primary 6 & 7 GAA club has also concluded
Girls Football
Girls football coaching continues in school on Tuesday 1st June for Primary 1 (2-3pm) and Primary 5 (3-4pm). If you wish your child to stay for the coaching please complete the electronic text which will be sent out to parents from these year groups.
The school calendar is available on the school website and school app.
First Communion
Mrs Davey's Primary 4 class will celebrate First Holy Communion tomorrow, Saturday 29th May, in St. Peter's at 11am. The ceremony can be viewed through the parish webcam. All adults should be wearing a face covering in the chapel and adhere to social distancing. Numbers are restricted as previously explained. We wish the children and staff well tomorrow on their big day.
Yours Sincerely
Seamus McCeesh
