Primary 3-7 Homework
Dear Parent,
I hope you are all keeping safe and well. I want to thank everyone for their cooperation with the arrangements in school to protect everyone in our community. Please continue to follow public health advice and contact the school if you are unsure of the action you need to take.
I want to congratulate the Primary 5 children and all the staff involved in the First Holy Communion ceremonies.
The teachers have now allocated homework activities for Primary 4-7 and Primary 3 will begin on Monday 12th October. The children’s homework will consist of activities on Mathletics, Accelerated Reader, MyON and spelling activities.
It is very important that parents engage with their children and make sure they are carrying out their homework activities. The children’s homework activities are listed on the school website at https://www.tannaghmoreps.com/kids-area/homework/ and the password is lurgan20.
The homework activities require the children to have access to a tablet/ipad/laptop which has connection to the internet. Please contact the school by email smccreesh642@c2kni.net or telephone Mrs Harbinson at the school if this is not possible for your child.
Parents should check the homework section of the school website every Monday for updates on all curricular areas.
Children are rewarded in assemblies during the week for their achievements in these programmes and there will be rewards for targets met at the end of term. If children are not participating in the activities, they are less likely to be rewarded at assemblies etc.
Primary 1,2 and 3 children will be using programmes such as Math Seeds & Mathletics which are run as Apps on an iPad. The children in these classes will need to bring in their own head phones to be used with the ipads. The head phones do not need to be very high quality and could be bought in shops such as Tescos or Argos relatively cheaply. Please ensure that the headphones cover the child’s ear and are not the type that are inserted into the ear. Headphones should be sent to school in a box or container with the child’s name clearly printed.
